Workshop Health and care from early life to old age

On February 16 and 17 2024 the Committee for International Cooperation organised the Workshop Health and care from early life to old age at the Hamburg Center of Health Economics. Speakers and discussants from many different countries (Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, UK, USA) engaged in lively discussions. Please see the program below.

Workshop program

Goals

The "International Cooperation" Committee aims to serve as a discussion forum and contact point for questions of international cooperation. It aims to provide a forum for non-German-speaking health economists interested in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, German-speaking health economists working abroad, non-German-speaking researchers working in German-speaking countries, and German-speaking health economists working in Germany who are interested in international cooperation. For researchers based abroad, we aim to serve as a contact point that can promote ongoing exchange with—and, if necessary, reintegration into—the German health economics community. It is important to us that not only colleagues working abroad meet, but also those active in Germany, because ultimately, it is about maintaining contact with Germany. We also want to help make the dggö conferences attractive to non-German-speaking researchers.

Another goal of the committee is international networking and the resulting opportunities for scientific collaboration, including with regard to joint research proposals. Finally, we would like to present foreign healthcare systems and current issues and solutions at the dggö conference. We are interested in comparing them with the German system and in assessing the transferability of the presented measures to Germany.
