Hints for speakers at the 16th dggö conference
Talk language
If you are assigned to an English-language session, an English-language presentation is mandatory. In sessions with a German-language title, a German-language presentation is planned, but the slides may also be in English. Posters can be prepared in German or English.
Lecture sessions
Each session lasts 80 minutes and consists of 3 or 4 presentations. For sessions with 3 presentations, please allow 26 minutes for presentation and discussion. We recommend a presentation length of approx. 18 minutes. For sessions with 4 presentations, the time for presentation and discussion is reduced to 20 minutes. Please allow a maximum of 14 minutes for your presentation. The person who gives the last presentation in a session takes the chair and is therefore responsible for ensuring that the maximum length of the presentations and the opportunity for discussion are adhered to.
Laptops and projectors are available in the conference rooms. Please hand in your presentation on a USB stick to a member of the dggö crew in the designated lecture room at least 10 minutes before the start of the lecture session. It will then be saved locally. All presentations will be deleted after the conference. Please submit your file as PDF or PowerPoint. The file names should begin with 'last name_first name' of the first author. Only USB sticks will be accepted as data carriers. Please unzip files before they are to be uploaded.
Poster session
You can present your posters individually on Monday from 14:30-15:30 pm in the poster session at the poster display walls on the ground floor and 1st floor of the Melanchthonianum. You will find exact information on the floor of your poster in the online program before the start of the conference. Please bring your poster printed in A0 format (portrait format) to the conference and hang it on the assigned poster wall. To ensure that as many participants as possible can see your poster, we recommend that you hang it on the exhibition wall by 10:15 a.m. on Monday, March 4, and leave it there until the end of the conference on March 5. During the poster session on Monday you should be near your poster for questions and discussions.
Indication of external funding sources
If you have received public or non-public external funding (e.g. third-party funding) for your presented research, we kindly ask you to indicate the funding source(s) on one of your presentation slides or your poster.
