"Recent contributions to behavioral health economics"

The committee “Allocation and Distribution” will meet to discuss recent contribution to behavioral health economics. After an introduction and overview of recent developments given by Daniel Wiesen (committee chair, U Cologne) there will be three presentations highlighting recent advances in behavioral health economics:

  1. Johanna Kokot (U Hamburg and HCHE) will talk about the past, present, and future of laboratory experiments with the title “Recent contributions to the behavioral economics of healthcare, with a focus on the impact of financial incentives on physician behavior”
  2. Nadja Kairies-Schwarz (U Dusseldorf) will present “Recent contributions to investigating the preferences and behavior of physicians and patients in the field”
  3. Annika Herr (U Hannover) will present first results of a recent field experiment on blood donations with the title “Blood ties: a field experiment on identity and compensation in blood donation” (joint with Alex Chan and Arndt Reichert)
  4. The goal is to provide ample room for discussion among committee members and all interested conference participants.
